We have the xtend & climb model from sears(the 8.5' model). Very durable, works great, extends and retracts with ease.

Had to go with a regular multi purpose ladder from Loews because the ones normally used by RV'ers have a 250# or less weight limit which puts me on the upper edge and I'm not willing to be there.

We have the 10 1/2 foot telescoping ladder from CW. It's just long enough for cleaning off the slides prior to retracting them. The only shortcoming to these ladders, that I experienced shortly after purchase, is when on pavement, be sure you either have someone on the ground holding the ladder from sliding or secure with rope the bottom of the ladder to the rig to prevent the bottom from sliding on the pavement. The feet on these are made out of a hard plastic material that does not have any grip on hard surfaces. Other than this issue, the ladders are great for occasional use and take up very little space.

Xtend and Climb 8.5' telescoping ladder. Aluminum, well built, coded silver for easy identification.

I bought this same one and loved it until the mechanism that allows it to collapse broke. First time under warranty. Replaced, no questions asked. Second time out of warranty. Company provides no repair parts or procedures. That area of the ladder is pretty much sealed. For me the ladder is too expensive to become a throw away when it breaks. Jim

At 37 lbs. I just carry 5 gals. less water to make up the difference. But having a ladder that extends to 15 ft.,with a 300lb. rating and lifetime warrentyand being able to use as a work bench is worth it to me. To each his own I guess.
