Illinois Info

Headed north thru Illinois. Has anyone stayed at Palace Campground (www.palacecampground.com) in Galena, IL or Apple River State Park, Apple River, IL. Or does any have suggestions in those areas?
Thanks in advance.

We are in the Peoria area (central Illinois). I could give suggestions on this area or Bloomington/Normal, but not really familiar with points north. We were looking at a KOA in Lena Illinois for a trip to the Galena area recently but we had to cancel. The reviews looked pretty good on that park but we have never been there. I think it is about a 30 minute drive from Galena. We have spend time in the Galena area on our motorcycle and it is really nice.

Thanks! We are in Casey,IL now, moving to a Corp park on Lake Shellbyville,IL for a few days then to De Forest and Neenha, WI. On our way to the Rally in Goshen, just taking the long way around and seeing the sites.

If you are stopping/staying at the DeForrest KOA that is a great park. All pull through sites and a really friendly staff. We were there a couple months ago and had some additions made by Camping World to our Monte. The Madison Camping World has a great service department which is only 5 miles from the DeForrest KOA, if you didn't already know all that.
