Internet magic

I have been ready to take a sledge hammer to my HughesNet receiver. I have done everything I know to get it up since we have returned to central Texas. Nothing I did would get it to "cross polarize".

This morning, without further attempts to get it going, to our amazement, it suddenly started working. This is some kind of internet magic. It was below freezing here last night. Maybe it came in out of the cold.

I never have trusted all them little electrons running around in our electronics.
Glad it's up and running.

stiles watson,

I believe in magic! But it was probably some other explanation. Could be that you have a bit of moisture in the lnb. When it freezes perhaps it causes the system to not be able to cross pol.

If you are not familiar with Datastorm.com then you can go there for problems of just about anything to do with Hughes systems.

Stiles,

I took a portable system to Louisianna while doing disaster relief after Katrina. I spent two days trying to get the thing to work to no avail. Turns out Hughes was having issues with their satellite and I didn't know it. All of a sudden it was live!! Anyway, we were able to help a lot of folks with email, FEMA registration, etc.

Stiles, The guy next to me here in Big Bend has one. He was having problems, found that he had condensation in his LNB Needed to remove the LNB and dry it with a hair dryer. He reinstalled it and it works fine now.
