Pet Monitor in 5er

DW is researching fur baby monitors for the 5er when they are not with us.

If y'all could share what you use, it would be appreciated.

I have been looking into the same thing, but I am more interested in the units that work through cell phone plans to text me alarms for temperature or loss of power. Most also have an app that you can check at your discretion to see those same items.

Does anyone use one and if so what are the recommended brands people are using?

We are in the Southeast New Mexico desert so monitoring the temp is essential for our Chihuahuas while we are at work. We got a device called a Tempstick that is reasonably priced and both texts and emails us when temp is too high and even graphs the temp thru the day. It has an app for your phone so you can keep tabs on conditions. It was very easy to setup as well and is battery operated so no wires. Just stick it on the wall or set it on a countertop. Download app on your phone, visit website ONCE and setup your information and your done.

We have had the device for about 4 months now and it is a great piece of mind when you have to leave the puppies alone at home.

Great idea! I will be watching to see what everyone comes up with.
We have thought about a nanny cam, and will look forward to reading about the other technology out there.

BTW - We lost our little Pippy (15yrs) last week. We are down to 2 Yorkies (both 7 yrs old). It is never easy to lose a buddy!

After much research and questioning on this and other forums, we decided to go with the Temp Stick and a Verizon MiFi. We are not full timers and our schedules don't allow the use of the Monty as much as we would like, but when we do get out, we wanted to be able to enjoy being away from the camper as much as being at it. We carry our kitty with us on every trip, but was really worried about losing power and the AC's shutting off without our knowledge. Because of this, we decided on the aforementioned setup. Yeah, the MiFi doesn't get a lot of use when not camping, but when we are, it is a great peace of mind. An old cell phone wouldn't work as a hotspot because most are set up to shut off with no activity in a certain amount of time. (the Temp Stick only broadcasts at certain intervals) We added the MiFi to our Verizon account for a small amount per month. We could have used the Temp Stick with the campground WiFi, but if the whole camp lost power, or heaven forbid, the campground WiFi had a hiccup, it could have issues hooking back up. It uses very little data when broadcasting so data should never be an issue. Short story LONG, we are extremely happy with our setup and feel much more comfortable knowing our kitty is safe (and comfortable).

Hi,

we used this one and somehow lost it
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As the above was not available anymore we are going to try this one out on our next trip:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both Cams come with Temperature and Humidity.
We run a Verizon Mifi in the Monti which allows to connect to those cams and get alerts.
