Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to learn and share.
If you have no experience with RVs, recommend you take someone with you that does.
Open up every door inside and out and look for water damage or other issues. Make sure everything works in all modes, such as the rig on gas and electric. Climb up on the rood and look for bubbles, tears and soft spots.
Having the carpet removed is a good thing - most of those older rigs were fully carpeted. You will find folks that disagree but I would tell you carpet doesn't belong in an RV. It just makes it harder to clean. I would want them to put some sort of flooring down though or you'll need to do it later.
Good luck!
