Mirror mounts

I have noticed that the mirrors in our Mountaineer are only held on by little plastic brackets on the sides. Why are there no brackets to the top and bottom? It seems to me that the mirrors could slide down while traveling.

On my next trip to the hardware store I will buy some brackets and put them on the bottom of each mirror.

Clutch,
Obviously they were missed when building the unit. Ours has brackets at the bottom and top. I've been noticing one thing throughout all the turmoil of quality control: Our unit was purchased new in 2000 and hasn't had near the problems that seem to be occurring with newer units. I believe it's because in the beginning there was not near the pressure to get a lot of units out each day. Ours was probably built in the days when they were only producing one or two a day, thus they were able to spend more time on it. Make sense? Does to me. Possibly if they cut their quotas down they may have a better handle on QC.

Thanks for your reply. I think two more on the bottom of each mirror and one on the top will ease my mind.

Your mirror is also probably on with double stick tape. We took the one in the Toilet Room off and had a h### of a time doing it. The double stick tape is stronger than any I have been able to purchase.
Happy trails...............................

The idea of tape makes me feel better. I am still going to put some brackets on though.
