Expensive Loss

On the way to the Rally while traveling on a very rough section of I210 we lost the door to the water heater. Not something we have ever had on our check list and we have been doing this for 15 years. We had the unit washed and waxed several weeks ago and can only assume in the process the little o ring that locks it got moved. Once that ring is turned it is only held by two pins at the bottom and on a rough road can easily come off. $60 + shipping for the replacement. Stiers RV in Bakersfield took care of us in a great fashion.
Happy trails.......................

Bet there were plenty of "spare" heater doors in our RV storage yard...

Must be pretty common. Steve says he sold one almost every day while he was at camping world!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but glad to hear the problem did not stop you from having a great time at the rally!!

I've had this happen too. On some units the little tab is plastic and it gets brittle and breaks allowing the door to fall off. I've always replaced the plastic tabs with metal ones, usually available at any RV parts store.
