Ford F350 Platinum

Purchased a new 2017 Ford F350 Platinum 4X4 SHORT box single rear wheel and found that they keep raising the height of the overall truck. From the ground to the top of the back box it is 60 inches. With the weight of the Monty on the 5th wheel the truck maybe settles 1 inch. I find the the front of the Monty is nose up and the back top part of my tailgate comes very close to the Montys underside. If I cross into a dip the tailgate will touch! Any experiences similar to mine. I previously had a F350 dually and the truck was much lower with no problems.
I could adjust the Moe ride hitch but that will only increase the height of the Montys front. Thanks Ellis

I don’t understand why they keep raising the rear higher and higher. My Monte runs a little nose high on my 2012 and it is not as tall as the new ones. On my previous 2007 F350 SRW I had them replace the 4” blocks on the rear axles with 2” blocks lowering the rear by 2”. Don’t know if that is still an option on newer trucks.

Other option is to raise the trailer.

Running gear is no higher so I guess they do that to make the young guys feel macho. My 2016 F350 sits high but not that high ~~ I think 57". I'm already at the lowest setting on the hitch and all Montys sit 4 steps high already. Not going to lift the 5er and unlikely to buy a new truck and have it lowered.

When I bought my '99 F250 I had the 2" blocks installed by Ford at no cost. My 2008 F350 sat fine and now my 2016 F350 also sits fine. The Monty is level. I don't understand why your '17 is so tall. But, check the blocks between the springs and the axle. If you have the 4" blocks look into the 2" blocks. The change does not affect the ride or handling of the vehicle.
