2001 Dodge for towing my fifth wheel

A stab in the dark... I have a 2001 Dodge Diesel 2500 with only 80,000 Miles..... I have spent 4 Grand on a rebuilt computer and two new batteries. Problem as follows: Check gauges light comes on, engine light comes on , battery indicator goes to zero. Will not go out of overdrive and no power.. Any suggestions... Two different mechanics have worked on it....

Not much to start with. I would want to know what codes have set the check engine light. Not real familiar with Dodge product, but if the instrument panel is a communicable device, there may be codes there as well. Doesn't sound like this is a problem for the average garage or mechanic to guess at. KOLCB offers sound advice, check your cables for corrosion near the ends.

I would check for a loose connection but who knows where. The older vehicles OSB port don't record all the faults the new ones do. This is a hard one if it ain't broke you can't fix it and it is only broke for a second.

I would suspect the rebuilt computer. Who did the rebuild and did the dealer program it to your VIN number?

Cummings can’t help you with that one Chrysler owns the programming.
