We are official RVers now.

We arrived in Suprise AZ about 8:30 PM on Tues evening. We met with my cousin to visit for awhile. I asked him if he knew of a RV park and he did not. So we let out fingers do the walking. Either there was no answer, or We were not old enough, did not allow dogs or dogs too big. A security guard who I was talking to said "Why don't I just go to Walmart". I am not a moocher and do not take much for free. However I was a bit out of options. So I asked my cousin where Walmart was and he explained how to get there. As we pulled in and headed for the other RV's that were there. I took up two parking spaces at the end of a row. My nonnavigator is nudging me that here comes the little cart with the blinky light on top. And we are sure he is coming to run us off. The security guard tells us to park lengthwise and to pull up so I wont be where the lot floods as it might rain tonight. He all but Valet parked for us. Came back to check to make sure we were set up OK and did we need anything. I was absolutely stunned.
We put the slides out run the generator in the morning for coffee and made ourselves comfortable. Here I had the thought that we were going to get run off and their security all but parks my rig for me!!!
Thank You Walmart.
So now that we have camped in a Walmart parking lot, Are we official Rvers?

That is too funny! Very nice security guard for Wal~Mart. It is nice we can go there when we need a place and can't find somewhere else to go. We haven't been to Wal~Mart yet but I am sure there will be a time we have to.

Welcome to the Wal-Mart Camping Club. The membership rates are low and the benefits are just right. We have used our camping privlages several times there when in a tough spot and it's late.

Your membership package will be in the mail soon!

That was a good one. On our way back from Texas a friend I was traveling with would holler on the C B every time we would pass a Wal mart that the campground is empty. they get a lot of campers there.

Rick & Wanda, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. It is always good to see positive stories. We have never over nighted at a Wal-Mart, and would be like you. Try to find a suitable campground in the area...but if none were available we will search out the nearest WalMart after hearing of your experience.

We stay at the Wal-Mart in Victoria, Tx. on our way south and back home. That is our only experience with Wal-Mart. We also use Sam's in Watertown on our first night on the road heading south. Other than that we use Flying J's all the way down and back. Didn't get the valet service like you guys.
