Hmm, a tequila sunrise is good. In my college days, football games meant mixing a batch of "hop, skip, and go naked". I can't remember what all went into it other than it included beer, rum, vodka, orange juice, and I think some lemon juice.

I probably will not get the riding in the trailer experience before the rally. I don't have an alternate driver.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Well I once jumped out of a perfectly good airplane against my better judgement, Parachute attached, to myself of course,A 30 mile or so ride in the back of a camper can't be that bad...can it...???

My Son and his friend rode in the 3400 this past weekend from Riverside, Ca. to Yosemite, Ca. and back. We tried to talk them out of it but they insisted. The only thing they complained about was the heat going through the upper desert. The outside air temp was 102° in Mojave. They said they had a blast back there.

Kids are different than us! They like all the scary rides at the carnivals. I only rode once from our campsite to the dump station, and believe me it wasn't fun!!

Ya know, now that I really think about it wouldn't make a hill of beans worth of difference whether it was comfortable or not. The one overriding factor is "it just ain't safe". The trailer riders are completely unaware of what is going on up ahead. If the riders were up moving around and all of a sudden the driver had to go into a panic stop or some sudden maneuver to avoid an accident that individual would be dangerously thrown about and possibly sustaining a very serious injury.

I don't know about the rest of you but as the driver and the only person legally responsible I am not going to have it on my conscience that someone close to me was seriously injured during my watch. And all though we don't have any pets, I would think those of you that do would want them treated better than that.

THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!

Then you'll probably want to avoid any sort of air travel, tour bus or train ride. You won't be the one in control and you probably won't be able to see the impending collision coming.

Words of wisdom from all sides abound this forum.On most of these fifth wheels you can't get at much while back there so what is the advantage.You also face the same issues while up and about in a motor home. If you are not driving you have no clue as to what is going on.I don' think it is particularly unsafe but it is inconvenient and as kwbosh points out when you are in the rear of a airplane you have no idea what may happen next.As long as 'the captian has turned off the fasten your seat belt sign and it is safe to move around the cabin." you are on your own . I see little advantage in being back there but am curious as to how the new 3400 rides with all the new suspension.

As long as a glass of water stays on the counter top in the rear of the coach, and stuff is not bouncing around, falling out of cupboards, etc. My guess would be, it is riding good.

In the TT I rode to the dump, sitting on the floor of the rig, I won't do it again. I am sure the Montana is built better and sounds less like it is gonna creak apart, but ya know,

sometimes ignorance is bliss.

I choose ignorance in this case!
