Additional storage in propane compartment
Storage tip - I store all my water hoses alongside my propane tanks. I use one side for my freshwater hoses and the other side for my black water hose. The propane compartments have an open floor and allows any leaking water from the hoses to simply run out to the ground. With a little more planning I could also store additional items in there. I just thought I would pass this tip on as I see many who don't use this area for additional storage.

Thanks!, I'll have Mel take a look. Those hoses are always such a pain!

What a good idea. We have a new 50' sewer hose we've been using with our macerator pump which we've not stored before, and this would be a great place to keep it. Thanks!

Sounds like a good idea. We'll have to check it out, too.

Agree there would be more storage, but should we be looking at a safety issue here?

We store blocks of wood on one side, and a small plastic box on the other. I think safety would be an issue IF you had anything that might create a spark.

I agree with Carol. I don't think hoses are very compustible.

On one side I have the hose for connecting to an external propane bottle and to a gas bbq grille. But the other side is not being used so will check into that. As fulltimers, we pull the propane bottle out relatively frequently so whatever I put in there would have to be not too big a pain to pull out. Good idea, Steve.
I've thought about building some kind of storage box under the rig but haven't gone much farther than thinking about it.

Steves, did you put a screen/grate in the bottom of the propane compartment. Know with our luck that the hose would figure out a way to slide out the bottom--looks like about any type or screen or expanded metal would do--just a thought. Will be using ours for hose storage, too.

Mobilrvn, good question - when I first started using these compartments I would roll the hose up and put it in there loose and one time the end did fall through the opening in the bottom. I now roll the hose up and bungee it together or couple the two ends together. Now the hoses stay in the compartment as they are to big to fall through the opening on the bottom.

I have intended and still intend to get around putting a fine mesh screen in the bottom of those propane lockers. Keeps mud daubers out, for one.

Great Idea, I put my hoses in the LP compartments for the trip to the rally and it was good to free up some space in the basement.

Thanks for a great idea. I've been carrying two 50ft hoses in the back of my truck that I use with my macerator. They were getting pretty well weather beaten there. Now I have both of them in with one of the propane bottles.

I have all my hoses fresh water,a extra hose for the flush king and another extra hose for whatever. They are in a yellow thingy that looks like a big donut. Its nice because you just have to roll out as much hose as you need. The water will flow with most of the hose in this yellow donut thing. The propane storage areea would be great to hang these in.will sure free up some space in my strorage compartment. Thanks for the great tip.
