As Jimmy Buffett sings in one of his songs " I am growing older, but not up" I still feel young in my minds eye view, but some times the aches and pains brings me back to reality. I will be 74 in October and Judy my best buddy and wife will be 63. Before reading this thread I would have figured that the ages would have been a little higher, because I see so many of you are full timing. I am so glad to see so many of you young uns out there enjoying your life on the road...I am not sure we will ever full time but we sure enjoyed RVing when we can. Hope to run across some of you whipper snappers one of these days.

We're both 58. Retired (quit our jobs) at 52 and started fulltiming. We consider ourselves blessed to be able to pursue this lifestyle.

Timebuktu78,
Looks like you and I have almost the same taste. I am on my second Montana, the current one being the 3400RL and also am 26 years old. I have a 4 month old Shi-tzu but we differ on the truck. I have Chevy running through my blood. I live in the coach during the summers as it is mainly used as my lake cabin. I hope everything goes well with your new 3400RL next week.

I am 67 and Mo is 64 and like everyone else, we wonder who those old farts are in the mirror looking back at us! Our only regret is not starting fulltiming sooner. Happy to see that there are the numbers of younger folks out there who are doing it. Sure that we are all happier and healthier for it.

I'm 53 and Glenda is 52. I like younger women!!!!. We've been married 30 years and have 2 boys aged 25 and 21. The elder is married and is living near Columbus Ohio. Next week they move to Long Island. The younger has just completed his second year at University of Toronto.
I retired last Dec after 31 years at Bell Canada. Now I work Fridays at the local Golf Course and have a small lawn cutting business on the side. Loooove this retirement. When Glenda retires in 5 years we'll travel a lot with Monty. Not sure if we'll full time though. Will cross that bridge then.

it's good to see a mix of ages! i love this forum...it's great to get some great advice from some of y'all who have been there and done that! god knows this "whipper snapper" could use all the advice i can get.
i hope that i will be able to meet some of y'all, maybe sit around a campfire, and listen to stories of life and lessons learned. i especially like to hear stories of past military experiences...maybe that's because i've been in the Navy for 7 years now and come from a long line of military in my family. those stories never get old to me!
i wish i was as lucky as those who are retired. but, i can't claim that just yet...still will be a few more years. even though i will be full timing for the next 2-3 years, i don't have the freedom to just up and go at a whim. i'm restricted, sorta, to where i'm stationed. i plan on full timing while i complete flight training in pcola, florida and corpus christi, texas. nonetheless, i have fulltiming in my blood...and who knows, maybe i'll live in my montana for the rest of my naval career...although, i doubt they'll let me take it out on an aircraft carrier!

I might as well put my two cents in.
I'm 65 Rita 59, 11 grandkids. Love to travel but not full timing yet. We have a farm to keep up, I don't know if I want to completely give that up or not. In the winter I say yes, summer I say no.

I just think it is so neat to see all of the different ages of our camper communutiy! Barb and I are both 43 and would love to be fulltiming, but not that I want to hurry things up to be retirement age just yet. We will enjoy many years of Montanaing to come till we get there. Just keep up the forums for the fulltimers so that we can fulltime vicariously through them !

I'm 58 and have been full-timing for 2 yrs 3 months - about the same time as Steve and Vicki. I didn't really retire, just decided to quit my job, sell 2 houses and 2 cars, and hit the road. This decision came soon after my dear husband passed away at age 64 of heart failure (I was 55 at the time). As a 17-yr survivor of breast cancer, I knew I needed to make the most of the rest of my life. My first thought was that I didn't want to keep working hard, commuting a long distance and caring for a large house and yard. Downsizing was traumatic, but I'm so glad I did it. I now have only 8 boxes stored and the rest of my earthly belongings are in my Monty. I try to live each day to its fullest, and value every breath I take, knowing they are both limited. All of you who have serious illnesses, the very best of health to you! Enjoy life one day at a time! And to you young 'uns who are already enjoying this wonderful RV life, whether full-time or otherwise, good on ya! You've figured out what's valuable in life much earlier than I did. Glad you decided to hit the road at your young ages.
To All - Hope to see you on the road somewhere soon!

Well, I am 28, not fulltiming yet, have to wait until 54 for that, but maybe I will get lucky and start earlier.
I do spend most of the time in the summer in it, though.

I am 63 and Carolyn is 59, we have two children (son and daughter) and three grand children. Grand kids are 10, 18 and 3 years.
I retired 4 1/2 years ago after 36 years in retail and Carolyn is still employed at this time.
We really enjoy the Montana and this forum. Looking forward to the day when we can travel 2 to 3 months at a time...feel like I need a place to return to.
Bob Pasternak, thanks for sharing the poem with us.
Good luck and Godspeed to all!
