Okay, lets try this picture.

The pointy thing is on the left and the sponge I took out left the dirty spot on the right. I think it is too big for rings.
Steve - what a difference an "S" makes.
GREAT JOB ON THE PICTURE!!!!!

I have a stainless steel tray in my drop down manufactured by Rev-a-Shelf it is completly different from yours, and no pointy thing either, why would you take your ring off anyway, it will get lost that way sooner or later

Hi Trailer Trash 2,

My sister-in-law never took her ring(s) off to do the dishes -- then one day her big ole diamond ring slipped off and went right down the drain. Maybe she'd lost weight or maybe rings can easily slip off when our hands are wet and soapy. Anyhow, Sis uses a ring holder now.

I always take mine off when I,m mixing meat loaf or kneeding bread. I think this is a great place to keep them.

Well if I were you I would say she must have lost so much weight her ring fell off, maybe you better not say that, I think the soap did it.

Just a word of warning if you put your rings on the pointy thing. Do not let the door slam shut when you close it. Took me several times of digging the sponge out of the garbage under the sink to realize that the objects in the tray fly out the back when closed to hard and could be gone forever. I kept asking my wife why she was throwing away all the sponges, boy did I catch it from her.

OK Here is the real use for that pointy thing that started 5 pages earlier, and I seen it in the woodworkers catalog anlog with a smaler window with the pointy thing inlarged holding a ring, if I knew how to insert a picture I would take a picture of it and post it.

I didn't think I had a pointy thing in our 3380 but since Les and Julie have TWO, maybe they got mine! J.

I think this thread must hold the record for "the thread that wouldn't die". It gives new meaning to the phrase, "trivial pursuit". But it sure has been fun. I have been to three county fairs, two goat ropin's and a hog callin' an' I still ain't seen that "pointy thang."
