Cleaning Ceiling

Just about through with Spring Cleaning and ceiling still bugs me.
Has anyone come up with the solution of cleaning the ceiling? 409 as recommended by Keystone does not work. Neither does Magic Eraser, Awesome or just plain soap & water. I am thinking that painting is the only solution to covering up where glue was used and nails are rusting through. If you painted. Did u prime it first and what did u use?
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

We had same problem on our 05 3400,tried everthing nothing would work,so I repainted ceiling last fall.We used kilz primer and sherwin williams paint, looks better than when unit was new.Not real hard to do takes a while masking off trim, but worth it.

Even in the high humidity of the west coast I have never had nails rust in the ceiling of any of my RVs and my ceiling still looks like new on my 05 Montana but no one has ever smoked in our units and no one ever will and I have no glue stains. If I did have glue stains the dealer would have had them fixed before I picked up the unit.
I hope you don't have some problem with your unit that has caused the ceiling to need attention.
If you do need repainting, my Dad has painted the ceiling of a few RVs just using a good quality
residential paint and had good results.

I have a 2003 unit. I also have the "shadow" of the rafters on my ceiling. It is not rust. The technician at the Branson rally indicated that it is a common problem over time and that it is due to the glue leaching the paint. His solution was to repaint with Kilz. The Kilz serves as a sealer, then finish with a quality interior paint.

There is no cleaning solution that will take care of the problem if you have it. It is not dirty. It is a color change.

If you only have a few small touch-up to do use white-out. I had a 1" hole that I had to fix and then painted over with white-out and it worked great. The only problem I had was finding a bottle of the stuff.

This is another great find I read here on the "great MOC site".

We used awesome on ours full strength. It took all of the discoloring off the ceiling. We smoke in our trailer. Some of it was due to smoking. It took us 2 days to do it. Just rinse it off real good.

We had some color change in our last RV. Where the beams were got darker I think it was due to my wife burning candles, I cleaned it with Clorox bathroom cleaner. dont get it on you or anything you dont want the color out of.
