Sunflower RV Resort, Surprise, AZ
Here in site 1117. Yup! 1117. PA lists it as 1150 sites, but all but a few are built in model sites. For $25 a night it is not a really bad place to stay, but I'd try and find something else the next time through. The swimming and facilities are great, but untested by me. I just did a walk around and there were many 55+ adult community members having a good time in the pool. Rec room, sauna, hot tub, etc. are available. There is no one on duty during the weekends except the gate guards - a gated community.
The sites are level, or as near level as possible, with full hook-up. The sites are alternated, where as one RV pulls in one way and the other is opposite. There are two patios end to end with a slight separation between patios. So when the park is full, you step out and look at your neighbor's door to the left or right. The sites are gravel, with the exception of the patio. The gate attendants will escort you to your site and align you to your patio. I always check before I shut down, and I had to move forward about 6 inches to clear the rear of the slide corner/edge .
The park is "pet friendly," except they don't have much of an area for the pets to walk. It is a very narrow strip of gravel/dirt along the back of the RV parking area. We did find a very, very nice doggie park about 2 miles away that Miya just loves going to. There are up to 30-50 dogs in their on the weekend. It is a two fenced in park, one for over 30 pounds, and one for under 30 pounds.
The entire community is street clean. Other cities should take lessons.
I would stay here again on an over-nighter if I had to, but would look for a CG in the area that has a little more space - and I don't thing there are any. I should have realized that when I did a satellite image view of the area.
