File Drawers

In the 3400 desk, has anyone found a filing system that actually fits the drawers? When we purchasd the Monty we thought they were actually filing drawers but after measuring, they won't even hold a 9x11 paper, except sideways . Has anyone come up with something clever before I end up just throwing paperwork in and turning it into a junky drawer? Thanks, paperheart

Not me, I just use them as junk drawers and carry a small file cabinet with me. I was disalusioned also. I guess we can thank Keystone for that one.

I removed the drawers and opened up the holes. The problem is when you put hanging files in, the drawer catch kept hitting the top of the files. I removed the cross brace that the drawer catch was on and then cut off about 1/2 from each one. When put back together, the files now fit with no problem. Good luck. Rick

Don't know what the fuss is, I use pendaflex legal size sideways and they work fine, have all our files in them, no problem..

Jim, those are the same type files I use, just put in side ways. The issue I had was the file tabs (labels) that clip into the top. When ever you opened the drawer, the catch would grab them and rip them off. Mostly was a pain. I finally decided to do something about it and this fix worked. Was actually pretty easy to do. Don't know why Keystone didn't think about it.

I, too, was disappointed by the "file drawers" in the desk.

Thanks everyone, guess I'll go sideways too. As long as I don't have to stand on my head to read I should be ok. paper

Sideways pendaflex here too! Works great.

Over the years I have found it a big necessity to be more creative than the highly paid RV injonears that design these rigs. If the RV industry would hire more actual RVers as designers over these highly edgeekated injonears we would have a lot less headaches and an RV that actually is truly RVer friendly.

Glenn, we were just @ Keystone last week and I was noticing all of the office areas they had in the building. I told them they have plenty of room to hire some of the Montana owners and that it would greatly benefit them.
He said he was sure it would! haha paper
