342PHT bathroom/hall light switch

After spending 2 weekends in my new 342pht and loving it, I have one huge complaint. The hall and the bathroom lights are on the same switch on the wall next to the bathroom door. It made for a very interesting shower when my 6yr old son turned off the hall on his way past!

The dealer want $190 to rewire the switch and make it 2 circuits.

Just venting.

The dealer Beckley's in Frederick, MD has been great and the punch list of 10 little items picked up at PDI and the first use was done before the scheduled appt day( I dropped it off a day early).

The 342 has lived up to our expectations with the kids staying in the bunkroom and allowing the adults to entertain the visitors to the new toy.

Hi shyattmedic. I just picked up my 342PHT today! I see what ya mean about the hall light switch. If you can get the three switch fixture, rewiring should be easy if the hall light wires and bath wires join at the switch. If not, it could be tricky. Did you take off the panel that hides your water pump? The plumbing for the water heater is in there. It was my understanding that the "Moving to Montana" option package, which is required, includes the hot water heater bypass kit. Mine doesn't have it. Does yours?

My hot water has the valve for bypassing it attached. I have already done it once. I had to access it from the storage compartment by removing the rear panel on the drivers side.

I emailed Mountaineer customer service on Thursday and asked about helping with the light, no answer yet.

shyattmedic, I took off my light switch and looked behind. If you can get 2 single switchs, you could leave the bedroom light in the hall way. Then drill a hole right behind the original switch and wire the bathroom switch inside the bathroom. The only problem would be that the hall light would work from inside the bathroom.
