Gray water leak

I have a leak in the gray water line. I have a clear extension on the hose connection so I can see the liquid in the line before I dump. I don't know the size of the gate to get a new gasket. I am assuming the gasket is the problem. Could you give me address to find what I need?
Thanks
Dennis

Boy Howdy ... you are having your fair share of issues with this ole gal. You can drop a short section of one side of the belly under the tanks to get a look. It will be either a 3" or 1.5" gate valve "if I understand your leak". You should replace the gate valve assembly with seals itself (4 bolts, the pull cable, and it's out) but you don't have to cut any fittings to do it. There is no "gasket" that I'm familiar with. Later model Montanas have two 3" gate valves on the grey and black tanks facing each other between the two tanks ... 1.5" gate valve on the galley tank ... I'm not sure what your 2000 model has.

HI Dieselguy ... Yep having a few problems but I guess I kinda expected them as this is a 16 years old rig. I'm sure I will create some myself but I am thankful these problems are not high $ (yet) problem and just require some attention. I am really really glad I found this group of Montana owners that have seen the problems. If I have a leak in one of the valves, should I go ahead and replace all while I am under and have it open?
Thanks
Dennis

Given the age, I would change all at the same time. Really is what your gut tells you to do. Just make sure that you have the monte level set to where the drain end of the tank/s are higher than the other so any residual stuff stays in the tank when the bolts are removed and the gates slipped out. There are two rubber gaskets that comes with the gate valve.
Real important to get both of the seals in correct they have a tendency to move if they do you are going to have a leak do not over tighten the four through bolts
I put a dab of Silicone Sealent on both hours prior to install will keep gasket in place

Boy do I feel like a fool ... the problem was an open galley valve. This is the first rig I have owned with that kind of tank, so I just over looked that valve .. O' well ... live and learn. Thanks for you advice. As it turns out ... I have 2 3" valves and a 1 1/2 valve for the galley. The 3" valves do not have cables as they are directly connected to the valves. I dropped the under side and could see all the valves.
Thanks again
Dennis

Get a twist-on valve to place at the tanks discharge point and you will have no more surprises and better control when dumping tanks.
