Front discoloration, Montana high country 2013

Have problem with fading and discoloration on front of fifth wheel. Had spoke with Montana, and they said they would not take care of it. Had three Keystone dealers look at it and they said it was defective and needed to be painted. Seems the problem is it does not have enough UV protection in paint. Have been to Montana rallies and talked with other owners, they all think Montana should fix the problem. Any suggestions on how to resolve this, thanks Bill , Lucky 40 .

Yes I have a suggestion. Montana if true to the way they usually do business they will not fix your camper. My suggestion is don't waste your time fix it yourself.

If it is a silver cap that is a common problem with that color and I do not know why, in the RV park right now there is a newer Arctic Fox and a Wildcat both faded silver caps,I read on another Forum that they just had it Painted and that solved it

The brown or tan colored gel coat front caps also have a history of fading, particularly along the top. That was a new color a few years ago. And it is not just Montana but other manufacturer/brands with similar colored fronts. I seem to remember Keystone (and maybe others) covering it if it occurred within the first year of new. But not so much afterward.

Several members (baybum10, bshgto) report Montana re-painted the cap under warranty. But being a 2013 I think you are SOL *UNLESS* you had reported to a dealer before the warranty had expired. This is a well known problem with the colored gelcoat and it is a shame that Montana (and all the other manufacturers using this crap) don't stand up for their mistake.

In posting http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...Terms=cap,fade member bshgto documented how he got Keystone to re-paint his out of warranty High Country

The Goshen rally in September might be your best chance if you get to a friendly tech.

P.S. great shrimp tonight!!
