More Leaks!
Thought we had a weatherstrip leaking on a baggage door, turns out it was leaking between the frame & siding.I removed the door & frame & guess what? no tape & very little silicone done in such a way it made no sense.Would of been better with no silicone at all, less clean up. Cleaned everything up, applied new butyl tape around the frame & reinstalled, had to shim one frame the opening was way out. What I noticed first is when you close the door the frame moves away from the siding so I added a few more screws to keep it rigid. I just did the second door & now I will do all the rest as there was water between the frame & siding on this one too. I quick check is remove a couple of the bottom screws & see if there is rust on them. It seems as Keystone is relying on a thin bead of silicone applied to the exterior rather than using butyl tape or gaskets, a little movement breaks the seal & if you notice there is a lot of force with the slam latch doors. My plan moving forward is to remove all the rest of the compartment doors, windows & door, in other words everything. It sucks to have to do this but the alternative is worse & going back to the dealer is even worse. I feel bad for those that don't know or can't do this themselves & are at the dealers mercy, I would of never known till it was too late with the second door as the leak was not visible & the silicone looked ok. I urge everyone to check theres, Im sure Im not the only one.

Thanks, just want to give everyone a heads up of a potential ongoing problem we may all have to some extent.

I don't recall ever seeing putty oozing out from behind a compartment door frame. Most likely because there is none, like you discovered.
I did not remove mine and reinstall, but on the last 3 units (including this one) , I bought aluminum drip caps that cover the tops of all my compartment doors so the water will not run down the doors. They collect the water and direct it to the sides beyond the doors. Just goggle vintage drip caps. They come in many different lengths. I stuck them on with automotive grade tape. (no screws)

That is a good idea, keep the water from dripping in when open also. Gotta get these things water tight.
