Eugene Oregon to Florence Oregon

The Sun came out the first time in a long time today and we took a ride in the car to Florence, OR, to see the sand dunes. We traveled by Hwy 126 out of Eugene. It is a snake like rode in places, but they are smooth curves and "S" curves. One 7% grade starting in a tunnel. A TV and Montana should be okay on that highway. Just watch the posted speed and obey the yellow caution speed signs, or a little slower. For the Seven Feathers group, this would be an easy way to get to 101. Not nearly as scary as US-199.

Happy trails.

That is a beautiful drive to the coast. If I were towing I would use hiway 20 out of Corvallis. Flatter, not as crooked, no logging trucks.

When we went to Florence a few years ago we cut off at Sutherlin and took 138 to 38 to 101. Very nice road and drive if you are coming up I-5 from the south.

I would not use Hwy 20 at present as they are doing major road repairs around Eddyvillle. Two weeks ago they closed the road for the weekend for blasting and and have been fighting a sliding mountain for the last two years. Florence is a better roan IMHO
