Hitch fever

Like others have mentioned, I'm getting the fever to hit the road for the Rally in TN. Since my orthopedic gave me the release, I figured I see what I could get done before we have to pull out. So I spent the morning hooking the battery back up, hitching up and dragging the Monty out to the nearest big parking lot to check stuck out. Everything is ready to go, but I can't test the water system until I get to a campground somewhere. Same for the A/C equipment.

I envy you guys who can hook everything up at your house.

See everyone in a few weeks.

We will be traveling to North Carolina to pick up the rig after warranty service tomorrow. Sunday we will start to pack up the rig with the items that I removed before taking it to dealer. Have to work Monday, but will stop by the mini-storage to turn fridge on so that it is cold for stocking Tuesday morning. If everything goes right, we are pulling out Tuesday morning at 8 am heading for a one night stopover in Alabama on the way to the Destin, FL area. A week of fun and sun and then we will be heading for the Smokies. A pretty good camping plan for two weeks!!

We have been in ours most of the year, far more days in the Monte than the S&B. Yet, like you guys I'm am ready to roll out for Tenn. we will be going on the 27, a few days early to make sure all is ready for the rally. Several of us are arriving early to see to things. George and Rosetta, Jim and Vickie, Pat and I are all arriving early. Come join us. See you at the rally.

we just got the Big Sky back after two months at the dealer for Holding tank replacement and other problems. Like Bingo we had emptied out the Montana and now it is alongside the S&B .The Mor Ryde IS was done and the difference is amazing. We will be showing it at the rally for those that do not know what it is.I have been going over the Montana with a fine tooth comb. The dealer did a outstanding job in correcting every issue. They still used the OEM brads in replacing the wall alongside the Ardmore that blew out. They did add the support that was missing in the rear wall. We will add some screws to the wall to add strength. We note that the Ardmore is no longer used and there may be a good reason for that. Everything works fine. Fridge doors seem tight and do not leak.A/C and furnace are good. Fridge works on A/C and propane as does the hot water heater. Both replacement tanks fill and empty and it is good to not have water flowing out the belly. We had the tires set at 105 and they came back at 101/102/103/103 after two months. we are not surprised as since we changed out all the OEm stems for quality stems we rarely have to add air. They torqued the lug nuts to 110 at Mor Ryde and they did remind us to check the torque which we did at intervals on the way back and they did not change at all. Checked them again today in the driveway and they are right at 110.

We are happy campers again. We will be stopping over at Renfrew Vally KOA, We won a KOA free night at the fall rally.
Oh and it is clean..... My aching back.

We are leaving on the 29th and staying in Nashville,TN that night. The the next morning we will continue on to the Rally. We had a small problem creep up on us early on in the spring when someone in our neighborhood decided to start shooting at 2:30 in the morning. When we got up that morning to start working on getting the Monty ready for our first trip, Denny noticed that one of the bullets hit it's mark. Yep, went right through the garage door on one side and out the other garage door on the other side. We also found that the bedroom slide has been leaking still after several attempts to fix it so Denny made the trip to our dealer in Elkhart. Found the cause of the leak and garage doors were ordered. A month later another trip to Elkhart to have the garage doors replaced and also a new hitch was bought. So after several dollars being spent we are ready for a little fun time now! Looking forward to getting on the road! See all of you soon and everyone have safe travels!
