Good job by surge strip.

Yesterday, there was some electrical upheaval around here. My main A/C started sounding funny and then tripped the breaker. I flipped it back on, it ran a bit then got squirrely again, then I heard a pop. Some I began to smell an unmistakeable electrical burn. I followed my nose to find all the entertainment center had shut down and the cabinet was hot.

I unplugged everything, removed the surge protecting strip, and tested it. That was what fried. Went out and bought another strip, plugged them all in and shazam, they all worked, TV, satellite receiver, DVD/sound system, and router. The surge protector did its job and protected all the devices.

I still don't know what the electrical event was, but a $19.00 fix is much better than the alternatives.
