Bedroom ac isolation

I am trying to separate the bedroom ac from the living room. At night I love it cold but, obviously cold air drops and I end up freezing out my dogs in the living room rather than cooling the bedroom more. With that said, I removed the two ac vent covers in the bedroom and installed pipe insulation bent in a U shape just rearward of the two ac vents. I tried running each fan individually and it did in fact separate the air flow so that the bedroom ac only comes out in the bedroom and the rear ac handles the rest. Will this damage the front ac since I have reduced the air volume output? Should I also open the quick cool vent to allow more airflow? Should I install more vents in the bedroom area?

Maybe replace your ceiling vents so you can redirect the flow
Replacement registers. Better air flow.
