Traveling to Moab UT
Does anyone no of a nice place that isn't so darn expensive to stay around Moab area? We are considering going end of May first part of June possibly don't want to leave an arm and leg in Moab.

We have stayed at Goose Island BLM Park along the river on UT State Hwy 128. It is just to the North edge of Moab. For us it was under $10 per night. The big thing is No Hookups. They have a campground host. They can tell you where to find a dump and a water station.
We enjoyed our stay there and will go back this next fall. There are several of these parks along the river North of town.
Over the years we have stayed in town at a couple of the RV Parks. I don't remember their prices.

I have dirt biked there for 20 years, most years going 6 times a year. Most of the time we camped for free out on BLM land. There are a couple of ok places out on the eastside of Moab. Next to the river is a pretty nice place; Moab Valley RV Park. Its pretty tight and clean.

Just out of curiosity, what do you consider "darn expensive"?

Looked at KOA and they wanted 67.00 a night for full hookups that's expensive to us.

Go see nunya, he runs a good ship, err, campground. A bit off the main drag (read that as quieter).
If we ever get back we are going straight there!

The other RV park I stayed at was the OK RV park on the east end of town. It was a little more spread out and easer to get in and out of.

Dead Horse Point State Park north of Moab has water and electric with a dump station. Only 21 sites with beautiful views and great hiking and biking trails. Very cool...reserve early!
Check that...I think it only has electric but still a great place.
