XM and Sirius one company?

Never even thought about it. XM and Sirius merged so they're one company right? Wrong! We were driving along listening to the NASCAR channel in our new Prius when the channel quit and unauthorized channel went on the screen. Turns out I can listen to the NFL channel and the NASCAR channel on my truck for the regular rate because my truck has a Sirius radio but the honeymoon was over on the Prius and it's XM radio and if we want to continue listening in the Prius we have to cough up a whole lot more cash. Turns out the same thing would be true if I wanted to listen to MLB channel in my truck since it's part of the XM package. Been Sirius customers almost since day one, because we live outside of regular radio coverage, didn't count for anything with them, however. Just send us more money. Not going to happen.

One company now. I have found that when it is time to renew my 6 month period that I just get on the phone with them and give them an ultimatum that I'll drop service unless I can get a renewal rate of at least 50% or more less than what they are asking. Works every time. Also check Google for S/XM discount coupons.

Let it expire and you'll get even better than that for a 5 month trial. You have to keep letting it expire, cancel every five months. In 2 weeks you will get a great "We want you back, introductory offer". For the savings I don't mind being without it for a couple of weeks. Just my experience. Jim

When I had my Camaro, I just set the reminder on my iPhone and every 5 months, I would call just before it expired and ask for the 5 months for $25 special. They always gave it to me. Never had to let it expire beforehand. They always offered me another deal, cut I held fast to my request for the 5mo/$25.

Why not just buy the "Lifetime" and be done with it

I would love to get the lifetime subs if I can get the full channel packages for the 3 XM radios we have in the TV, the Equinox , and my Kenworth. Maybe as the subs come up I'll see about that.

Got a year free with truck. It expired. Called to get it turned on. Wanted something like $18 a month. After several offers got it down to $30 for 6 months.

Just got my letter, 6 mo are up. They are now wanting $89 for 1 year and then it goes up to regular prices. Going to leave it off for the next 3 weeks. Truck is parked till we start south end of October, then will be parked for 5 months in S Texas. Wife takes her car and truck goes into storage.

May just leave it off, got plenty of CD's.

Jim
