Air Bags

In case anyone is in need of air bags. We have some for sale that we only used one season. they are Firestones. They cost like $300.00 new would sell for $175.00. Got a new trauck no need more them now.

They are off our 2001 F250 Ford. Really helped with the ride alot.

Only lost Spike (the sons bird), due to an illness. Very sad as we have had him since a as 8 weeks old & would have been 6 this 4th of July. I still tear up & it's been a week. They still go out to his grave & sit a few minutes before bedtime & talk with him.

I've installed air bags on my last three trucks---"would not leave home without 'em". These units really help to smooth out the ride; at least it feels like that to me. As weights and loads change, you can adjust the additional support as needed.

I recently put air bags on my truck. What a difference!! They really work nice for leveling the truck back up and have smoothed out the ride some too. Wish I had done it a lot earlier. Highly recomended them.

I'm about to install Firestones on my 2002 F-250. Those of you who have installed them - did you route the air lines each to their own individual air fitting, or did you tee them together so they're connected and equal? I've always used the Tee in past installs on other vehicles. Can't see a need for side-to-side control. Open to any and all advise.

The primary reason for individual lines is so that air can't be forced from one bag back into another. Example is, in a load shifting situation such as dropping of off the road or bad curve the air is forced from the bag with the load to the unloaded bag.Where if you have a seperate lime to each bag this can't happen. The same would apply with air shocks on the rear of a car !! I hope some how I have made this point clear,you must have seperate lines for them to work corectly at all times!!! It could cause a very dangerious situation if the right circumstances occured!!

Sorry for the quick post again,but I shoud have mentioned on trucks that have an on board leveling systen they have a valve to keep the air the same in the bags as they change positions.I just dont remember what it is called unless it is a leveling valve.

Eagleone - thanks for your input. It makes perfect sense. I'd considered it might be sometimes necessary to separate the two to keep an unbalanced load leveled - under other types of applications. I hadn't considered the "shifting" of the load during cornering, etc. All it means is drilling one more hole, and a couple more seconds at the compressor. No biggie! Again, thanks.
