Spots on Front Cap

Apparently, while traveling behind a dump truck spewing black diesel smoke and fuel residue the front cap has black "oil" spots on it. I noticed the "oil" hitting the truck windshield when behind the dump truck. Washing with black streak remover and dawn the spots are lighter but still there. Any ideas on what to use to remove them? The spots are on the front cap only. My truck is black and the spots on it are not noticeable after washing. I used Meguiar's ultimate wash and wax on the truck. I am not sure this is okay for the camper. The spots are on the top of the front where the decals are located as if the stuff came over the truck cab and hit the camper. Thanks,

what the oil most likely did was clean off some oxidation from the cap, whick makes it look it is still there. All you are seeing now is someday more work to use a cleaner wax on the cap to remove the rest of the oxidation that is forming. It is natural to slowly dull, you just didn't notice it until that happened. I am useing Meguires #50 marine cleaner wax on the cap and camper and it is taking the dull and dingy off real nice. I have to give credit to someone here that recommended it,just can't remember who? (CRS) hope this helps

If wax does not take it off, try a mild compound application

If you use Bar Keepers Friend, and apply wax afterward it will do the job.

Maybe something as simple as a dish soap with a degreaser in it. Dawn makes one.

Since it is a 2011, it probably does not have any wax on it unless you applied it. Use something like Dawn dish detergent, it should remove it. I would stay away from any rubbing/polishing compounding solutions since it it this new. With fiberglass, do the least harm for longevity, meaning use a simple non-cleaner wax when you are finished.

Whenever I get a small stain from bugs, etc. I put a dab from a bleach pen on each one, let it set a few minutes and wash it off. This usually takes the stain away

We just went out to wash our Montana after sitting for the winter. A fellow Rv'er came over to chat and showed me this stuff he uses on his RV and cars. It was called "The Solution". He sprayed it on some of our dried buds and bird stuff and used a microfiber towel to rub it and "poof gone" with no effort. It also has UV protectant and can be used on any surface. He said he has his RV washed once a year and uses this in between to keep it clean. Anyone else ever heard of this stuff.

I have tried the Solution and it did ok except on the lower front on the road oil, grease, etc., wouldn't touch that
