Scissor Jacks in front of tires

I added scissor jacks in front of the tires to take out the spring bounce. Works well.

Both can be seen one behind the other.

Are the jacks bolted to the frame, I can't see? I have been doing this for awhile but not fastened to the frame, I just remove them.

I also use an adjustable jack if I'm sitting somewhere for awhile. It does take most of the bounce out of the rig. Never thought of mounting something more permenmemt.

Yes they are bolted to the "I" beam.

Our TT has scissor jacks all the way around. I use a rechargeable 18V drill (Harbor Freight special for < $20) to raise and lower them. Works well!

MMmmmm. I think I can visualize another electric one piece stab jack from Lippert bolted in that spot. It would have to do with time set-up savings and equal pressure being appied to both "I" beams.

I thought about that but I thought my sewer pipes would be in the way on the drivers side.
I do use the 18V drill for these and the rear stabilizers. I also put the scissor jacks down last.

I also use scissor jacks in front of our wheels. I found that just applying a little bit of pressure to take some of the bounce out of the tires and suspension, it really does a fine job. I have used them for a few years now.

Larry, ours are bolted, same as John's. I used the self tapping screws that came with the jacks. We had these jacks on our prior Montana for more than three years. Those screws never loosened one bit. I removed them and installed them on this Montana. Same story, no loosening of the screws whatsoever.

Mine are mounted aft of the tires. Johns are forward of the tires. From what I can tell, either location will work. The key is to locate them where it is easiest to get to them to raise and lower them. Also, I get mud on mine, behind the tires, at times. A good spraying takes care of that. Also, the same crank that works on our rear stabilizers works with the scissor jacks. However, I use an electric drill. The same socket size works on both.

As John said, these work. They don't eliminate horizontal movement but they sure eliminate the up and down bounce of the suspension. For us, anyhow.

I like the idea of the bolts, then you can also use them to raise and lower the black tank. LOL SORRY STEVE

Chicago Electric? Probably the same as mine! Also cheap and from Harbor Freight.
