Need to Dry out

Hello my name is Rick, I have a 2955 RL, I had a problem with the tolet water fill, the fill broke at the bottom and water everywhere. I have since started the dry out process, but I have a question how does one take the bottom plastic off or do I just loosen the plastic sheets inorder to dry out the bottom,, also does the insulation need to be replaced or can I just put it back together after it drys out?? Thanks for the input Colorado Rick and Patsy.

Rick,

When we had our water 'leak' we dropped the bottom plastic enough to let the water drain out more easily. Just a few screws removed. No need to replace the insulation. At least not on our model. If you have relatively low humidity then the rig should dry out in a few days.

Our 'leak' was because we forget and left the bathtub water running when we left the trailer. Thankfully a neighbor saw the problem and turned off our water. I think it took us several hundred miles before water stopped running/dripping. We were going over some mountains and that helped drain the water.

Good luck.

Dennis

I agree with Hamrad. Just remove enough screws to let the bottom pan drop down and drain. The last water problem I had, I positioned a fan to blow into the opening to dry things out. I also carry a small water vac to suck water out of any wet carpet. When I had the bottom pan open, I tilted the rig off level to facilitate the draining. Welcome to the forum. Happy RVing.........

Rick and Patsy,
Recently I removed a couple of the vinyl belly panels to fix a squeaky floor on our 2955RL. Ours is an 08 and was not a single piece belly pan. The insulation is up next to the floor above the floor trusses. The insulation is quite tight to the floor in most places and would probably be hard to remove.

Like Dennis stated if you drop the panels or panel enough for the water to run out it will probably do so. The panels are held up with screws. It might take a few days for the insulation to dry out. The main thing is to open the bottom up and get some air in there as well as letting the water out. The insulation is about 2" thick. There is foil insulation on the bottom under the trusses and above the belly cover.
