Brad,

They have been around for a few years now, just not very popular, at least not around here. Yes, as more mfgrs. install them as OEM equipment they will be more readily available.

Thanks for the continued feedback--lots of good info, and some new questions--

John--the Michelin site seems to be down at the moment. I'll check on that tire you mentioned when the site comes up. In the meantime, do you (or anyone) know how much weight that tire can handle? As I menitoned earlier, I'm looking for a tire that can handle at least 3200# load per tire.

Lonnie--thanks for the vote of confidence you gave to LT tires in general. Am I correct in assuming that you also see no problem going with a load range G tire since you note that the Goodyear G614 is a excellent tire (albeit expensive and hard to find)? Are you aware of any load range G LT tires that are more widely available and less expensive than the Goodyear? As for the Bridgestone tire you went with, all I could find on the Bridgestone site is that it is a load range E tire. Just how much weight can it handle?

David,

The Michelin XPS Rib is rated for 3042 lbs @ 80 psi. The Bridgestone Duravis R500 is rated for 3085 lbs @ 80 psi.

Your assumptions are correct, I see no problem in going with the laod range G as long as your wheels are rated for the higher air pressure. There are a couple of other tires with a G load rating, less expensive than the Goodyear, but IMO they are pretty much junk, Chinese made.

You are not going to find a load range E tire with a 3200 lb weight rating in the size you need. Nobody, as far as I know, makes one.
