Furnace and AC running at same time.

Hi guys. Bought a Montana 2016 3791RD in May, it was used with very little use. Question is tried the furnace for the first time to check it,s operation for the up coming cold, ill be using it only for the month of October or so. When furnace kicked on so did the AC in the living area but it didn't feel like it was cold air coming out maybe just the fan. Any suggestions on what's happening and how to resolve this issue. Thanks, Chuck.

Your whisper quiet also has a heat pump, on your thermostat there are two settings for heat, your gas furnace or heat pump. On our 17 3160RL only the main living area has this option, the bedroom is gas only option.

Don't think i have the heat pump or heat strip as they call it not sure how to even know if i do. When turning on the thermostat and go to the mode button its either OFF,COOL,FURNACE,and think FAN.

Also don't have whisper quiet AC ,have the AC you can see in the middle of the ceiling. Thinking its a early 2016 model and maybe the dealer or the original owners they didn't order the heat pump or heat strip. Is there a way to tell if those options are on this AC.

If your RV had the heat pump it would show up on display when your choosing a mode.

Go to your main thermostat not the one in the bedroom use the function keys and put in
Auto mood to use the heater only. there is a good YouTube on how to use the Domedic
thermostat it explains all the functions and how the work.

This is a common complaint due to a "feature" of the Dometic thermostat. I seem to remember the manual actually documents this behavior but I don't recall the specific reference.

Anyway, these systems can have the fan running on the A/C if the system calls for heat and the fan setting on the thermostat is set to anything other than AUTO

It was working yesterday with the Heat and the air fan running today I am now messing with it I have it in the furnace mode and the fan speed on auto and nothing happens the heaters not even coming on even when set to 80 degrees. Even if I turn the fan speed on to low medium or high and it runs the AC fan the furnace still is not coming on now even when set above the temperature outside and inside now. I'm baffled now.

When you run the furnace make sure that the fan is on AUTO, no problems.

If you have propane on, thermostat that controls furnace set to furn, FAN SPEED set to auto, and temperature set to something really high...then furnace should come on period. If not, then previous owner messed with something or it is broke. If you are using the program mode, best not to do...dig out manual and clear out that crap.

AC fan running with furnace

We have the same problem in our 3730FL. Service guy at dealer told me that it is supposed to do that, because Keystone thinks it helps distribute the warm air better. I don't think so! Anyway, I solved the problem by tripping the AC circuit breaker when I want the furnace to run.

How many thermostats do you have?

If more than 1, which I am assuming you have, then the one in the main living area controls the furnace.

The one in the bedroom, which it shows it has the heat function, is not connected to the furnace.

Try this and let us know.

Well I'm messing with the furnace now I saw a little red light in the breaker box and couldn't figure out what it was so I pulled a fuse and it show that it was burnt 15 amp fuse so I replaced it with another one and working fine now. So the one next to it was a 15 amp when I unplug that the little red light LED underneath that fuse turned on and when plug it back into where the furnace fuse was little red light went off. So now I know what I see a little red light underneath all the fuses that one is burnt out now off to the auto parts store to get some fuses. Also when I turn off the fan on the air conditioner to the auto setting it turns off and furnace runs as far as I'm concerned the way it's supposed to without the AC fan running and if I decide to turn on the fan to maybe circulate more air that I'll turn the fan on low. Also want to thank everyone for trying to help. Also there is no thermostat in the bedroom just in the main living area by the kitchen it is a dual-zone but no thermostat in the bedroom.

Should have thought to tell you that the electronic in the ac units are responsible for sending 12vdc to the thermostat. Well, at least you found the fuse.
