3400RL & 3475RL owners

I know we talked about this before, but I was unable to locate the topic.

For those of you have have the additional hi-back computer desk chair, do you leave it standing up at the computer desk while under way? or Do you lay it down? I have always left it up and so far no problems, but I am curious how it will ride on the upcoming 4800 mile road trip??

Thanks...

Yes, Dave, we leave it up. Push it under the desk a little. It has never fallen. I do have it full so it is heavy. When the road was so badly torn up on the way to Polson, MT, nothing moved inside the Monty. We couldn't believe it because it was really rough for many miles.
Happy trails.......................

Montana Sky man - I just leave mine sitting at the desk. We have had this thing to Florida and back, Tennessee and back and it has yet to move. I don't even strap the dinette chairs anymore. I got to looking at it and with the slides in where would they go anyway. I do strap down the two back recliners. Those things could move and cause you an issue when trying to open the slides.

Dave, given the chair is facing the side of the Montana it would take one heckuva side to side motion to topple it. Those chairs in the newer rigs are very heavy. I wouldn't think you'd have a problem. We move ours simply because on the 3295RK the slide would smash it if left in place.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

We also leave ours up and in place - and we don't tie down our dinette chairs, but we do turn the recliners back to back with a cushion positioned between them (we took out the floor straps); the chairs stay in place (since i push them nearly to the window anyway); and I check them as the slide is opening so if I need to stop, I can, but so far, so good - if you put the couch in that spot as some have - you should turn your cushions or they will get caught up in the slide - if they are like ours and don't stay put. Anyway, no problems with the computer chair, we have a media cabinet for cd's, dvd's, etc that is thin and we put that between the chairs in the back and since it locks, it then cannot fall over, nor the contents spill out.

Chaser,
Sounds like you have a great media cabinet set up. I just use the cabinets over the desk for the dvd's, cd's, and computer items. Still have empty cabinets to fill yet. =)
