Keeping wasps from nesting in the AC unit
We took our Mountaineer RLS315 out for the first time this year last weekend. In preparing I found that wasps had built a nest in the AC unit and it made it tricky to get in and out loading after moving the trailer and getting them active. Although after 300+ miles on the highway I think we left them all behind, I'd like to know of any suggestions for you may have keeping these from nesting in the AC units. TIA

We use our share of moth balls - not just in the RV, but all around. Ahhh, the joys of country living !! They don't work all the time on everything, but if you can just make it uncomfortable enough for the little critters (whatever they are - wasps, mice, snakes, etc) they'll usually just move on - problem is they just move on to something else we own !!

We second the moth ball trick. I have been accused of going overboard a few times as the darling wife doesnt care for the smell. But I tell her it's a little odor that we can get rid of easily or a mouse or bugs eating away at the interior. She understands and so far we have never had any rodent or insect troubles.

Just don't go overboard on the mothballs! I spread several around in our old 24' Wilderness FW when I winterized it. Next spring it took months to get rid of the mothball smell! So use them judiciously!

Has anyone tried dryer sheets you use when drying clothes they keep bees and things of the table outside when eating maybe it would work on wasps the same way.

We use dryer sheets inside - seem to do the trick and freshens it up, too.

Possibly there are AC covers. Anyone aware of these?

Yes there are. They have them for mobile homes so they must have them for RV's. Or maybe the mobile homes ones would work. Or how about just securing a big black plastic trash bag around the unit when not on the road. I've seen that on mobile homes also.

They make them - might be ok for storage, but it might be a hassel during RV season. Those wasps are fast !!! and you'd have to get on top to remove these.
