Rear jacks question
We brought our Monty home April 11 from the dealer and took it out today for the first time, but just to the repair shop to have a level installed on the front and also a keyless entry lock.
We noticed that the rear jacks, when retracted, sure seem to hang down a long way. Is this normal, and if so, has anyone had any issues with this, like maybe bottoming out when crossing railway tracks to maneuvering around un-level areas? It just looks like it could be a problem.
When helping to back it into the driveway I noticed there were mere inches between the bottom of the rear jack and the driveway at one point. We do not have much of a slope on our driveway but if we did, this could be a real problem! Not all campgrounds we go into are perfectly level all over. Fuel stations are sometimes a bit hilly here and there was well.

In over 50,000 miles we've never scraped a jack. We have drug the tail but even then the rear jacks cleared.

Are they low like ours are?

Other than dropping off a curb, I don't think those would ever drag. It would take a severe slope to drag them, even going in/out driveways or other uneven pavement.

Mine are like that also. Never had them drag. But if you think you may have a problem move then up a hole or two. I have heard of people doing that. No sence in worrying about something that is an easily fix.

Same concerns with my Montana 3402RL. We found that ALL the jacks can be raised by about 3 inches which won't void any warranties and definitely gives better ground clearance. We then use 4x6 wood blocks under the jacks to take up the extra 3" height clearance so that jacks are not over-extended when leveling.

Looking closely at your picture, it appears that your jacks are not completely up.

That's interesting. We pushed rear jacks up on the touch pad. One would think that would raise them all the way.

Those jacks appear to be up all the way; look just like mine. I would worry more about the middle or front jacks; being close to the rear wheels, it would be very difficult to drag the rear jacks.
