AMP running board

Four years ago, I had the AMP retractable running board’s installed on my 2019 Ram 3500 diesel. Due to the extreme cold they are not going all the way out or extracting back to their storage position.
To make matters worse my batteries are dead. Is it possible that the position of the running boards may be draining my batteries? I tried looking up troubleshooting and couldn’t find anything. Their customer service is only available M-F. Thx

Google shows a number of postings regarding the subject. Apparently it is a known problem.

Here is one post;

"I've had this happen 3 times to me since May. While it should not be happening, the fix is to unplug both cables from the module next to your brake pedal and plug back in. This seems to power-reset the module and everything will work again - until the next time it happens. My dealer acts like they have never heard of this issue!"

I've never had an issue with my AMP running boards in cold weather. But mine are a little older. Maybe something in the newer models?

I have, though, had a dead battery. I always keep this in the truck with me. It works quite well and is easy to use.

Thx. I’ve got it on the charger. If it ever warms up I’ll see if I can find the cables and reset
