Washing a rv

Washed my new 3120 for the second time today and boy is it tall. I was using my rv brush with extension (Walmart brand) that I have used for years on other trailers. I'm 6'4" and can barely hit the rain gutter. What's everyone using?

I use a Shure line paint roller extension handle I bought at Lowe's. It was a bit expensive, I think $15 or $20 but it adjust from 4' to almost 9' and is quite sturdy. I love it.

Being barely 5'7"That's a great idea I need to try. Have the roller extension handle. Be easier than hauling out the step ladder. Thanks for the idea.

I've been washing and waxing our 5'er and will continue to do so until physically unable which I hope will be a long time from now, but, I'm curious if anyone has used Blue Beacon Truck Wash. They're typically located next to a Pilot/FJ/Love's truck stop and in addition to cleaning semi's also do RV's. I have one within 30 miles of the S&B and called to acquire pricing. I was quoted a $1 per linear foot price which I questioned as it seemed extremely inexpensive and the young lady I was speaking with checked and confirmed with the "Boss", yep, $1 per foot. Curious if anyone has used them and the overall results...good, bad, or ugly?

As long as they don't damage the decals that is just plain cheap.

Cool

I watched a YouTube video on Blue Beacon by some independent RV folks who filmed the process which appeared to be thorough as a team of perhaps 4-6 workers cleaned the RV (except the roof). They seemed to be pleased with the work but I always like to trust, and verify.

Upon purchase of our 3791 the Dealership we purchased from failed to adequately wash the RV including the roof even though it was on our punch-out list. After raising some Cain they suggested I take the RV home, hire someone to wash and wax, and send them the bill. After I forced them to put in writing I did just that and hired someone to come to the S&B. The bill of $250 was payed promptly.

Doing a complete wash and wax by hand is a killer. Don't know how much longer I will be able to do it. Takes a few days. When I am finished, it's almost an EMS situation. Whew!

Just rinse it off and wipe dry once or twice year unless I get off on unpaved muddy roads. Wax once a year but do it over several days just biting off a little each day.

How often do you wash and wax your house?

I bought my extension from CW. It will easily rach the roof from all sides and my Rv is 13'7". Just don't buy the brush that screws on, get the one that the extension slides into with a catch that fits into a hole in the brush. The screw-on type brush will unthread when pushing on the right side.

Where we witner in Texas it's $200 to wash the sides and an additional $175 if they wash the roof. I paid to have the walls washed once and they broke the flapper in the exhaust fan. They washed a neighbor's RV once and ruined a circuit board in his Fridge by squirting water into the upper vent. They're just trying to do a good job and sometimes too good.

As long as I can do it, I'm going to wash my own.

Washed mine before our return trip home this year, the first day down the road someone puked diesel type black stuff in a few places. Desperate to clean it without scrubbing, my wife volunteered her swiffer. After the pad got black, replaced the swiffer sheet and it did an amazing job. Think I'll try that oftener.

I can not seem to find Wishy Washey in LHC. Where are they located or what is their phone number. Mine is in desperate need of a good wash and I can no longer do it

I use a fiberglass paint pull that extends to 20' if I need it to but it works great!

I use a fiberglass extension pole as well and also had an issue with the brush trying to unscrew from the pole so I put a 1" screw in the plastic part of the brush at an angle to go into the screws...... no more unscrewing.
