shocks

I was under my 5ver yesterday adjusting my brakes and noticed I had a broken shock. Any recommendations for shocks? It's the rig in my signature. Last Feb. I had extensive work done beefing up my suspension. At that time I told the shop to put new shocks on, but he said they really don't help on an RV?? Regardless I don't want a broken one on my rig.

Thanks for any help.

You seem pretty attached to having shocks on your fiver. If they are mounted at like a 35 degree angle like most OEM shocks of that time period … just remove them. You will notice no difference as they are mounted at such a flat angle that they can only respond to bumps an inch or so which does nothing. Look at the shocks on any car or truck as to the angle they are mounted (near straight up and down) and perhaps you can visualize why the RV shop saved you some money.

But if you want to replace, pull one and take it to nearest auto parts store and they can match.

Shocks

See the picture was a few years ago I changed the stocks on my 06 Everest out because they were bent studs.
I also made up mounts to put them in the right angle.
Now I see they gone from the fixed side of spring for damping to the moving side???
Den.

No not attached to them at all. As I said when the shop owner advised against it I didn't change them. But now I have a broken one. I choose not to have it remain broken. So my instinct is to change all four since they are all original. Even if they don't help, I would prefer to change all, not just the broken one. I guess I can't help it, I know their useless but I will sleep better at night if I replace them.
