Pressure and volume

I use a house pressure gauge set at 60 pounds but with whole house pressure gauge you get three times the volume. Works great but they are not cheap, you have to get it at hardware store. If running water thru filters and water softener you need the volume living in Texas you need filters and softener hard water to protect all lines and hardware. So added volume a must.

Hallelujah, we have water. The new pressure gauge worked; we set it to 50 psi. Actually, 40 psi gave us plenty of volume but what's 10 psi among friends. We still don't understand it because we tried two different pressure regulators (wally world cheapo's) and one had never been used and the other had only been in use 6 weeks or so. The flow through the old pressure regulator was great until it was hooked up to the RV. We are now happy campers again (not that we weren't happy campers anyway - just not very wet campers).

Glad your problem is solved, and thanks for taking the time to provide the feedback. A lot of posters on here asking for help don't have the courtesy to do that, even after being asked to. What brand regulator did you finally get, and from where? Thanks.

Good deal … having a nagging issue is frustrating. I guess I'm not a very good reader. I just didn't pick up on you always being connected thru a regulator. I had assumed you tried attaching the city water hose directly while awaiting a regulator. Anyways … this has been an adventure for us all … Ha!

This is what we ordered from Amazon: Renator M11-0660R Water Pressure Regulator Valve, It was $34.95 - not the most expensive but it does have a 1 year warranty and customer service seems to be good.

One more update and then I will lay this baby to rest. We turned the psi down to below 45 (about 41 or so) and the pressure works just fine. Not only that, when you run hot water in the shower, flush the commode or run hot water in the sink, you don't get hit with a jet of cold water in the shower. Life is good - I think I'll go buy a T-shirt that expresses that.
