I talked to some electrical guys and they confirmed the design. 220-volts is just two 110-volt lines coming into the same plug and using one common and one ground. When it hits your convertor, it just splits the 50-amp, 220-volts into two 110/120 lines with one going through a 30 amp breaker and the other going through a 20 amp breaker.
