SlideOuts Stall on In or Out Operation
Our 3400 slideouts stall/stop when either IN or OUT operation.
They stop for about 3-4 seconds then resume. Fluids are good. Any input is alway accepted...Tks. Dennis

Dennis,
I called the service manager at my dealer with the same issue. He said that the first thing to do was lubricate the slide mechanism with good silicon grease recommended for slides. I used CRC spray and the sticking stopped. I sprayed the slide rails and the gears.
If the lube doesn't do it, then you may have an alignment problem. As for me, I let the dealer handle that one. By-the-way, the service manager said that shutdown or sticking was just the automatic reset breaker doing its job to protect you slide when overloaded.

Dennis,
The circuit breaker/fuse for the slides may be getting "weak". My slides were stopping while we were putting them in or out. We would wait a few seconds and hit the switch and the slides would then continue. I replaced the breaker and all has been well again. The breaker on my 3400 was behind the pump for the slides on the back wall. It is a silver/gold rectangular box, 1 1/2 inches by 3/4 inch.

Our dealer installed a parallel breaker that was recommended by Lippert (I think they made the slide out gear). Solved all our problems. I think the breakers are 50 AMP. I recommend you contact your dealer. Also you might search this website for this fix.

On my 3400RL, under warranty, 50 Amp Parallel breaker was installed by dealer with Lippert authorization. That has corrected the exact problem you are describing.

We had the same problem and took it to the dealer to have it fixed as part of the one year warranty. I told the service tech about what I had learned here on the MOC forum about other having the same and fixing it by removing the ground strap from the plastic tray and connecting it to the frame. They told me that all it needed was to be tightened. They tightened the ground strap, and so far so good... for a year now no problems. Good luck!

Thanks to all of you. I still am not sure about where the breaker is located on our 08/3400? I believe bw2 indicated his was on the wall behind the hydraulics but dont see anything similar to that.
I did receive some excellent steps to follow from MIMF and will attempt those. Some of the steps he outlined are actually from all of you in some form, except he has laid them out for me to follow.
Will go thru them and let you know my success...Tks Dennis

Mine was right behind the battery on the rear wall. It has a red plastic cover.

Thanks Wayne, I did find it w/red covers. Not knowing a lot about this auto-reset breaker, etc, I just wasn't sure that was the 50 amp auto-breaker.
I was given steps to follow to tighten ground to frame and other connections on the hydraulic pump; check battery for full 100% charge and fill reservoir 1/2 inch to top with atf fluid. All done and it works now after a 4-5 in/out attempts.
timandsusan; our 08 3400 has the 50 amp parallel auto-reset breaker.
fire5ver; the ground strap was also loose on our 3400
Mimf; all steps followed and now back to working
Thanks everyone. Dennis

Don't forget about lubing the slides as Stiles suggested. I've had slides get balky, even sometimes hopping a little as they travel in or out, and lubing takes care of it. It reduces the load and thus may no longer pop that breaker. If lubing and doing the simple checks, such as for tight fittings, doesn't do it, then I'd look for something more difficult.

Before doing the auto-reset breaker replacement (really works!) be sure to disconnect your battery!!!! Job takes 10 minutes and costs

I never bring all the slides in on our 3400 with one push of the button. We bring in the bedroom and the kitchen slide..pause for a few seconds, bring in the opposing slide, pause for a few seconds, then bring in the main slide. We are still on the OEM breaker and it never trips.

Had the same problem on my SOB. Found it to be an in-line 50amp circuit breaker connected to the battery was getting weak. It would kick off and then when it cooled a few seconds it would go again for a liitle bit. I thought the same thing with the fluid and all of that but it turned out to be that breaker. Picked one up at the Auto Parts store. Replaced that and it worked like new again.

It's still under warranty. Tell the dealer that you know that the fix is to install a parallel 50 amp circuity breaker. They will call Lippert and get authorization to install it. Dealer did mine under warranty and now it works like a charm. You still need to lube the slide mechanism once in a while. Dealer also sells Dri-lube for that.
