It looks like ‘results may vary’ LOL

I stand corrected, however since captnjohn shows his location to be NC. It looks like he can't leave his driveway
Another thing to keep in mind is telephone and cable tv lines. They are notorious for being under 13' 6" even though most towns mandate that they be higher. Be very aware when in parking lots or private property as they usually aren't regulated.

Actually hope to be in my driveway tomorrow afternoon. Pulled about 16,000 miles this year...... truck turns 1 year old next month and has well over 44,000 miles on it.

My Garmin triedto take us under a 12 ft underpass in Boston. Back when I was stillnaive enough to believe a GPS. My Trucker's Atlas is now the GPS backup.

My Garmin RV 760 would do that in automobile mode, but unlikely in RV mode ...

Very well put. It has always been my feeling that once you purchase and take off in any RV with a height over 12' your days of just wondering down any road you want are over. Professional semi drivers don't just pick up a load and take the most direct route to a delivery point.

If you are staying on Class I designated highways (interstates and most U.S. highways) then you won't see any overpasses below 13'6" generally speaking. Once you exit those Class I roadways you had better know in advance the make up of the road you are traveling on. Of course the most reliable printed information on safe roads to travel in large RVs is the Trucker's Atlas, or a commercial atlas.

Low hanging traffic lights are a real issue for me. I only need 12'6" and still hit one with my front AC when I bring my RV into to San Antonio to load. I have to carefully select the correct traffic lane to avoid it. Still have had plenty of dents in the front AC cover. I have wondered how large delivery trucks don't just hook it and bring down the whole mess!

Hi

No the member that did informed me that it was against the rules to post political information.

I for one don’t consider what I posted as political.

It is a stamen of fact that can be confirmed by research at any library.

Ok folks.. moderator hat on:

We have removed several posts from this thread that have wandered into political discussions and wanted to take a minute to remind everyone that political and religious topics are off limits here. We have members from several countries and across the spectrum of viewpoints and these topics are a distraction from the topic of the board and divisive to the community.

Here is a link to the forum rules if a refresher is needed: http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ork&page=rules

There are plenty of excellent places on the internet to discuss other topics but here at MOC, let's focus on the things we have in common please; rving, adventure and camping.

Thanks for understanding

I guess it's ok for Government to VIOLATE THEIR OWN ORDERS! Telco lines MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 16 feet above the road...The rule is known as "Government order 95", or GO95....

Can someone tell me the difference between the Garmin RV 760LMT vs. RV 660LMT? I have seen online comparisons and reviews, and they seem to have the exact same features except the 760 has a 1" larger screen. Huge difference in price. Am I missing something?

I think it is as simple as the 760 is newer and they are discounting the older 660.

Thanks for the reply. Assuming all features are the same except for the screen size, I would be inclined to buy the 660 at 1/3 the price of the 760 - especially with lifetime updates. Still wondering if there is something more about the 760 that is lacking in the 660. Hmmm.

When I first got my first 5th wheel, I almost ripped off my skylight in my driveway because the cable between street poles was to low. I called them up and the next day they were there raising it up.

BTW, For Garmin LMT means lifetime maps and traffic. Both have that feature.
