Winegard antenna

I was on my roof today and noticed the dicor lap sealant is cracking around the base of my winegard antenna. I was going to remove the old lap sealant and reseal it back up. I got to think we never use this antenna and was wondering if I just can remove it and patch up the wholes on my roof with Eternabond and lap sealant. Has anyone had any experience with removing the antenna or any advice . Thank you.

I never remove the dicor before applying new. I just make sure it is clean. Personally I wouldn't remove the antenna as it is an expected item if you ever sell .
