40th Reunion in Beloit Wi.
We will be going to my 40th High School Reunion the 15th and 16th of August. We usually stay at Pearl Lake RV park when down in the Beloit area, but they have gotten way over priced. They just went to 40 bucks a day for elect.,water, sewer and basically nothing else. It it a half mile to the restaurant/ shower area and no laundry. We have stayed there for several years but since they bumped the bucks up we were looking for another CG near Beloit. We have checked Trailer Life directory and nothing listed for Beloit area. The nearest ones (25 miles) are both state parks with basically dry camping. Does anyone know of any hidden unlisted CGs in that area? With the price of diesel and the 300 mile trip down there spending another 160 for four days is a rough ride.. Dave and Betsy

That is what frosts my cookies, since it isn't a famous sports venue they don't bother to bring in the tourists. I am so glad I left there after I graduated, the town is dying slowly and has been for the last twenty years. Luckily we don't have to go back often. As far as the cost of the CGs goes we just got back from 7 months on the road. We were in Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas, and Illinois and the most CG we stayed at was 30 dollars, the vast majority were between 22 and 28 dollars. The military CGs were mostly under 20 dollars and vastly superior to most of the civilian CGs we stayed at. We do use PA when we can find a PA camp ground but there only a few in Wi. and didn't hit any on the way home as they were off our route. Pearl Lake is a nice CG but like I said they are way out of line on price/value... Dave

There are a couple of CG's just north of Janesville, WI if I remember correctly. Don't remember the names of them, but they were small and looked like they were very basic CG's. Right off of I 39/90 also. There is also one on I 90 east of Belvidere. Sorry I don't remember the names, but it's been several years since we've gone that way.

Well, at this point it looks like we may be stuck with Pearl Lake for the reunion. Driving from Belvidere or north of Janesville will eat up in fuel what we save in CG fees. Although I may try my brother-in-law's house again but then I have to put up with my brother-in-law
