Arizona liquor prices

Does anyone here have any idea how beer/wine prices in AZ compare to other states? I know I won't travel to some places (like Washington) without bringing my own adult beverages along as their prices are out of sight compared to Calif.

Thanks, WD

The best I have seen in Arizona has been at Sam's Club. Safeway also has reasonable prices. Compared to Washington, even Hawaii is cheaper.

Total Wines has good prices. Arizona sales tax is pretty high, though.

The best prices we have found were when we travelled from AZ to CA. They have some pretty good sales there

Warren: AZ is only a little more expensive than CA so you don't have to load everything you think you will need. That said, the competitive prices are at Total Wines and BevMo and they are only in major cities (Phoenix and Tucson). Safeway carries a good selection and is only a little bit more expensive than the discounts. So for run of the mill adult beverages it won't hurt you too much to buy here.

P.S. For you WA residents - don't expect the price of liquor to decrease now that the government is getting out of the retail business. Come to the Spring Rally and I will explain why.

Well since I drink Sailor Jerry spiced rum, I will buy it at Safeway in AZ for an average of $19.00 for the big bottle as here in MT it is close to double that. AZ seems to be about half the price of MT

I live in Washington and have my good stuff boot legged in from buddy's when they come to visit. It is almost half the cost in California. Next week I'm driving to Montana (for work) and I'm hoping to bring back a few cases. That is if it is a good price in Montana.

The only state that I know of that has an express way exit to the liquor store is on I-95 as it pass thru about 50 miles of New Hampshire. Yes, the store has a HUGE parking lot. And it is usually full. Always shop carefully! But it is a little out of the way from WA--I guess everyone knows that!

We have found that prices in Los Algodones, Mexico are very reasonable- The only drawback is U.S Customs allows only 1 bottle per person each trip so you must make multiple trips- DO NOT try to exceed the limit- The sound of breaking glass at the border is not pleasant- JMHO- Don
