Our fix was to buy a bunch of spares at one of the salvage stores in Elkhart, In while at the MOC rally. That worked pretty good as since we purchasaed the spares we have not broke a single one.

We have not broken any yet but do have a pair of spares just in case. On our first two Montanas those latches opened relatively easily. Not a problem. On this Montana they are very stiff. It looks to me like this one is adjusted so the door is closer to the part you push with your thumb to open it. One of these days I'm going to see if I can move those latches to more closely resemble the alignment in the other two Montanas. You might see if yours can be adjusted somehow.
Also, ours are latched only when we are ready to hit the road. When parked, we reverse the doors so the latches are not used. That not only saves wear on the latches but also on our hands.

There is a cheap easy fix.
Go to the hardware store, get 4 no. 90 Orings, put one under each
screw between the plastic latch and the door frame. Just snug the
screws down, don't tighen too much. Now you are not flexing the
latch, but are compressing the Oring. Try it. It will work and the
door will stay clased.

Yup, what Oldguard said. I took his advice and installed them on ours. Now the DW can open them by herself.

Mlh, that is an ingenious solution. Does this also make them easier to open? Thanks.

Oldgaurd,
Thanks for the tip! By the way, very handsome improvements page! Your unit looks VERY cozy and liveable. Love the furniture!
Any hints on where to get the latches?
