GM Integrated Brake Setting

Question for owners of the newer GM brake controller: What do you have your gain set to? My salesman, who I know doesn't have one, set mine to 4.5. Should I just set that to 10.0 before I hook up my Montana? Or is that something I need to play with?

Dave_ I set mine at 7.5-8.5 and that seems to work OK for me. You can check to see how efficient your setting is by going to an open parking lot and apply the brakes and see if the tires on the unit lock up and slide or just slow you down. IF they lock up the brake controller is set to high! They should assist you in slowing down but not lock up to stop your TV!

Well that's two Nebraskans that gave you an answer so I guess that's the truth!

OK, here's my five cents worth (inflation you know) on a 17K SOB, have mine set at 7.5 and works great, but I do have the Disc Brakes which make a huge difference in stopping ability.
