Towing with the new truck
I am all grins today. The old '07 F350 6.0 towed pretty darn good. But the 6.7 is outstanding. Only towed about 100 miles but was enough to show me how much better it is. Running with cruise at 68 through rolling hills it was taching about 1,600 rpms and never once dropped out of OD. The 6.0 would have towed those miles fine also but would have been taching maybe 1,800-1,900 rpms and would have dropped down a gear a few times. Hard to tell to much from that short of a trip but appeared it might get about 2 mpg better also, at least by computer to computer comparison.
Can't wait to head to Colorado next month.

I upgraded from a 2006 F-250 to a 2012 F-250 exactly a year ago. I, like you, thought the 6.0 was a pretty impressive puller, but this 6.7 just blows it away.
A month ago we upgraded from a 30' travel trailer to a 37' Monte HC 343RL. The additional size and weight didn't make any difference for our truck, which we call "Brutus". To coin a phrase, I'm a happy camper!

We love our F350 DRW Diesel. I did install Firestone Air Bags last weekend, and glad I did, as it really smoothed out the ride.

There is no such thing as a truck with too much power. I have 600 + HP and 1100 + TK, love the power!!! All that power makes towing so much easier, set back relax and enjoy the ride.

My 2011 6.7 has been the best tow truck I've had. Have about 7,000 plus actual tow miles and 22,000 plus overall miles on it and not a problem. Best wishes on your new ride! I agree, all the new trucks out there are awesome.

I just got my '12 F250 Diesel fixed up to tow--replaced the 26 gallon tank with a Transfer Flow Internal 50 gallon and got the Ford software upgraded to a 50 gallon capacity fuel tank. Of course the truck pulls the same--GREAT! But I will drive past a bunch of service stations with the Monty attached--That will really be nice. As others have said--new truck are nice--my old truck did pull ('06-F350) but not like this one.

Ok Bill, we need pictures or at least a color, if I don't see Molly, I won't be able to find ya, if you decide not to stay in the Wild Rose. That being said, it sounds like they are getting a little more moisture this year. Keep your fingers crossed.

I agree with your opinion on the 6.7. I just pulled a couple different construction trailers with mine, max weight maybe 4,000 lbs. When I hooked up to Monte for first time I thought there would be a huge difference with 15,000-16,000 lbs behind me. Darn truck ran about the same! MPG stayed over 12 and that was with less than 20,000 miles on engine.

I have 10,000 miles on mine, get 13-14 miles per gallon, level terrain towing the fiver, 20-22 on the interstate with no load. I do add CTAN to the fuel.
