I would like to know how much it takes to go full time in the rv, can you do it on $50,00.00 a year, is there a figure out there where if you conserve you can make it.Thanks any input would be appreciated.

Everyone is different, how much will you drive a year, do you like boondocking or luxury resorts? Will you sit and take advantage of monthly rates?? Do you like to go out to eat and take in lots of fun, but possibly costly sightseeing opportunities. Will you work camp to offset some of the year's playing?? The list goes on and on.

With good planning, you can do it on $50,000. You can spend a lot more too. All those factors mentioned above will weigh in on expenses. Going slow and staying in a spot for a while will help. It all depends on your lifestyle.

It can be done on the same budget you have in a stick house. You spend and save the same way you did when in the stick home. If you need to save that month then just get a CG and sit tight till you get enough to be comfortable with. My point is the same as whats already been posted. You can fulltime on any budget!!

I read a blog, Life on the open road. This lady dry camps on public land a lot has a small camper, lives frugal and does it for about $20,000 a year. Nice blog, wonderful lady and she keeps track of all her expenses go check it out.

x2. We spend the same FTing as in the stick & brick - eat out as much, buy the same kinds of groceries, etc...... Whatever you live on now is a good estimate of what you'll need when FTing.

Also, of you need to save expenses and/or make a bit of money along the way - you can always workamp.

We do it on a lot less than $50,000. a year. We are frugal and don't eat out a lot, but as all ready posted we didn't eat out a lot before fulltiming. We are work camping for a KOA this winter just to save a little money. Looking foward to summer and heading back out we will stay at campgrounds that offer a monthly rate and stay at the same place longer. It all depends on how much money you have. It can take it all enjoy it. Its worth every penney. George
